WOW WOW WOW. Its been ages. I have been so busy with work but never the less still shooting almost daily. I'm practising my photoshop now so I can get more out of my digital images. I have however decided that my blog will be just that 'a blog'. There are so many interesting things in this Nigeria that I'm not worried so much putting up great pictures here, I just want to show off the stuff I see daily...on my way to work and back...taking my boy to school...going to church etc. Its interesting. If you want to give pointers, thats fine too. I know this picture needs cropping here, coolness there...but yeahhhhhhhhh. I'm just blogging!!! Happy belated new year to all. :)

So with every new regime of government comes a new promise. Better education, better roads, and the ULTIMATE with ALL of them Constant power supply. Suffice to say no one has been able to keep to their promise. Anyhoo, when I saw this 'beauty' I figured the regime that put it up promised the people 'a beautiful lagos'. Then what? We put up the structure and forget? All that being said though...Kudos to our new Governor Fashola of Lagos state...i can see his work clearly. He''ll get there. Kitchen - a la carte?

Phewwww...it has been so very long. I have been tremendously busy and have decided not to be too serious with anything for now. I am having fun with my photography and seeing Lagos and the world in a whole new light. I will try and post daily now but who knows eh!!! Happy new yr to most people (I know I know its July). I took this picture on my way to work...I had to slow the car down cos its amazing how these guys live. The tin roofs are their homes, and here you see their kitchen where they are probably making food which they'll sell to bus drivers, touts etc. Then the garbage dump??? Whats the life expectancy of these guys? And here I am, a little smoke in my floor to ceiling tiled kitchen and I complain 'open the windows, put on the ventilator'. PLS!

I have been sooo busy with work and even photography lately I havent been getting enough rest. In themidst of it all, I still find time to have fun with family anf friends. This is from a recent shoot I did for a friend of mine (peridot & ruby collection) - they make lovely clothes. The studio part of it was over and some of us (me included, which one am I?), decided to jump in for the last picture. I will put up images from the shoot when i can and hope Suby will give pointers and learning points being the fashion photography guru. :)

This couple is engaged to be married in September...Took pics of them at the introduction. The bride to be said she's shy... I said yeah so says the person who always comes out very wel in pictures. Such a long journey marriage is...starts off with love so beautiful, then adjustments, compromise, learning to deal with stuff and hopefully compatibility cos I bliv thats what keeps till the end...and of course friendship. May they continue to be as happy as they look. Remember to keep loving!!!

Love is still in the air. I met this gorgeous mum and her kids at the introduction...I still dont know her name but she was beaming with such a glow that I had to take her picture...then she said oh my kids too and of course I fired away. The connection between children and their mothers is so strong that it hurts me when I meet people who are estranged from their mothers by theirs or the mother's fault. I wish the world would learn to forgive...its the hardest thing to do but I heard on Oprah that forgiveness is not for the other party, its for you. Not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die!!! I dont know what I was trying to do with this picture...now I look at it maybe too much is going on but I didnt want to cover up the main picture too much. Critiqu away and remember to love!!!

This adorable little girl is Mimi O. She's 4 months + old and just a vibrant little one. Carrying her is B (who has almost 5 kids that aren't hers). Ok so I feel like this is the season of love. Summer is approaching, the heat is on etc etc. I personally have been feeling a lot of love from the right places this season (Thank God). For those who aren't, search in the right place and you'll find it I know, cos its a beautiful thing to know someone cares...even if they dont have to...they just do. Anyways, in that spirit..here's a series from my friend's introduction (when the prospective groom's family comes to introduce themselves to the prospective bride's family). The only processing here is the color conversions and the collage. I did nothing to the picture. Yes her smile is just that bright. Anyone have any good clone tutorial, cos I tried to get rid of the hand in the left but gave up Here's wishing them a successful journey (cos it sure is a long one)
